La Vuelta cycling tour

Tour Description

SEPTEMBER 2025 – Coming Soon – ENQUIRE TODAY

Week 3 of the 2024 Vuelta a España (Tour of Spain) will see our tour start and finish in Madrid. The tour will immediately move north to Asturias which is considered by many as the spiritual home of the modern Vuelta. Get ready for the Stage 16 summit finish on the emblematic Lagos de Covadonga climb! After testing yourself on some of Europe’s most challenging climbs the tour enters the award winning La Rioja wine region. The mountains dividing La Rioja and Basque Country will help shape the general classification. Enjoy your medieval base as terraced vineyards, quality asphalt roads and passionate Basque supporters combine to create an exceptional Vuelta experience. On this tour you will see three high altitude finishes; Stage 16 at Covadonga, Alto Moncalvillo during Stage 19 and the Stage 20 finish atop Picon Blanco. The tour concludes by heading south and arriving to Madrid in time for the Stage 21 Individual Time Trial. What a week of cycling watching Spain’s premiere road cycling race!

Client Reviews (La Vuelta)

Julie (Esperance, WA, Australia)

Can’t recommend the tour highly enough! Fabulous cycling, fabulous scenery, fabulous food, fabulous racing.

David (Melbourne, VIC, Australia)

I did my first serious cycling tour with Sierra in Spain and the experience was fantastic – great scenery and cycle routes that went to places off the beaten track to see the real Spain as well as riding through iconic towns full of culture and history, and we got up close to La Vuelta on the final 5 days for some memorable experiences. The organization was first rate – the van and cycling support, the accommodation, food and wine, and the overall thought that went into making the week not just a cycling event but a great tourist experience. The cycling experience and knowledge of our tour hosts, Paul and Andrea, was my other highlight helping me to learn much more about cycling and myself.
